A Thayer’s ‘type’ Gull in Argyll?

I have been in contact with Bill Allan and Jim Dickson, two of the few Argyll birders, in recent days and have been following discussions on the ‘Argyll Thayer’s’ that has recently been present at Dunstaffanage Bay near Oban.

In an attempt to put as much information into the public domain as possible this blog will hopefully act as a repositary for many images and so help the discussion. Thayers? Kumliens? American Herring Gull influence? Be interesting to hear any feedback, best intially to post here or email:
