Keith Bray found an injured Woodcock in his garden in Tong today. It seemed to have been attacked by a cat and was struggling to fly. However, after resting in a box all day, it seemed prudent to let it out in the enclosed vegetable patch in Brue to feed. Be interesting to see if it gets its act together.
Coincidently its two years to the day since Troy found my only American Woodcock on the sidewalk in New York. We picked it up and put it beside some nearby trees for safety.
Woodcocks really are daft.
