A few hours out today proved dividends.

Bonapartes Gull has returned to Mealbost Borve. It was around from April 20th to June 8th then vanished till it was refound on Sunday at the same place. Boomerang Gull!

Other highlights were 95 Eiders, 15 Great northern Divers (makes me smile to hear the wail of a loon off here) and two squabbling young Kestrels in east Ness, suggesting local breeding. A few skimming Manxies, two Storm Petrels and a couple of Basking Sharks also rate a mention.

Yesterday Turtle Dove was still in Bragar and there Black tailed Godwits were on Loch Barvas.
