Counting crows

I had 388 Ravens in a ‘flock’ on the moor last week (with some pics which show them thermaling) and I saw the same again tonight at the side of the Stornoway/Barvas road.

Presumably that is most of the islands non-breeders, as most Ravens are tending to their nests at the moment?

Bigger counts from the island do exist. Tristan had 536 on March 3rd 2010 and recalls a tally of over 700 on one occasion. Bennadrove dump is a kep magnet for them, but seeing them in such numbers out on the peatlands is a first for me at least.
