Costa del Ness

Are the rumours true? Folk in Ness are giving up Guga and beer for paella and San Miguel. The recent flurry of southern avian visitors has continued. Following on from Garganey and Woodchat Shrike today Red-rumped Swallow and Bee-eater were added to the tally. That’s quite a Mediterranean feel. I wonder if Ness’s birdman regrets cutting down his grape vines as global warming is clearly reaching the Neasachs!

3 Sand Martins in Barvas my best addition. many Swallows skiffing over moorland pools today. Obviously a bit of movement going on, but oddly most heading south. Perhaps they have read the weather forecast.
