Skylarks are back

A work trip to the mainland produced 5 Waxwings in Contin, 1w Glaucous gull in Ullapool and any number of Red Kites en route to Inverness.

Back home the weekend was mixed. An adult Glaucous on Loch Stiapavat in the early afternoon on Saturday while the 1st-winter Iceland was still nearby. Seven Lapland Buntings would have been a nice site at the Butt and the Little Gull was still at Porth Stoth pool on Sunday at least. Thanks Tony.

Further hunts for ‘the Hawk’ proved fruitless but Skylarks are now around in numbers, as are Golden Plover – 330 Barvas, 720 Ness.

Anyhow, its soon to be Eyes to the Skies.
