mid Feb round up

The Snowy Owl was seen at the weekend at Uig, so it sounds like it has headed back to its usual haunts.

A moulting drake Scaup is on Loch Brannahuie while a female hybrid Scaup x Tufted duck is at Tiumpain.

A Buzzard was taken into care at Rodel and is now recouperating after a visit to the vets.

Signs of spring are around – two Long tailed Tits on Leverhulme Drive as well as a few Siskins about town suggseted some movement. Something that hasn’t moved is the bullfinch . It remains elusive in Bragar.
