Collecting a corpse

Never a good day collecting an eagle corpse, but you do begin to appreciate the size and power of these birds when you see them this close (albeit deceased!). Looks like this bird is c.17 years old. Not a bad innings. Cause of death TBC, but doesn’t appear suspicious.

4 Greenland Redpolls at Aline by the Lewis and Harris border, 17 Black tailed Godwits at Northton, Curlew Sandpiper at Bragar, and a Great Northern Diver still on Loch Barvas the other highlights – oh and a few more fly over Lapland Buntings.
