Big falcon

Falconers fly them, could be a hybrid Heinz variety – who knows. This Saker-type beast was on South Uist today chasing waders at Ardvule.

A similar bird was at Stornoway Airport a few years ago and an escaped Saker (with jesses) was reported y’day in Ayrshire.

Saker was always flagged as an unlikely vagrant (and I am certainly not saying the Uist bird was) but recent work has shown that they do ab-migrate.
