Vis Mig

Flagged by Birdguides and Clive MacKay I thought I should give this a bash.

Sitting in one spot and seeing what goes by. Seems like a nice option so tried a spot of ‘Vis Mig’ (visible migration watching) today. Lots of Meadow Pipits about first thing and 310 Gannets from Brue heading over the sea in a general SW direction. Highlights in 5 hours on and off – 2 Sooty Shearwaters, 29 Manx, 17 Curlew over, Basking Shark and a Sparrowhawk. The later is a nice Westside record. All in all pleasant but overcast light NW wind with just two wee showers.
