Much of the day was spent looking at crofts and searching for bees, but birds were clearly about.
In Port of Ness a Barred Warbler eventually showed well as did a Lesser Whitethroat and a trio of Willow Warblers. The Barred is teh third I have seen in Ness and I also had one (or two) last year in Brue. Barreds are scarce migrants and it is always a good bird to see – they breed no closer than Germany and occur in ‘drift’ migrant conditions in autumn. Several Small Tortoiseshells enjoyed the sunshine too
